The story so far....

Well...?

How do you like it so far? Would you like to read more? Would you like to know what happens next?

I want to turn this blog into a book - but I can't do it without your help. As long as enough people are interested, I will have a better chance of getting a publisher on board.

If you would like to read more of Sally Blake's chapters, and for me to write more about her, please leave me a message of support below.

Thank you!

  2. A must read for anyone who has ever worn even a little spritz of perfume. You'll enjoy this wonderful revelation. Appreciate that this was pieced together by Emma from the copious notes and scribbles that her mother made over the years. Sally Blake has to have been one of the most knowledgeable and prolific collectors of perfume ever! A truly entertaining and educational read... this book deserves to be read by all.

  4. These blog posts have been fascinating. All that Sally Blake was, and all that she knew about perfume, should not be forgotten. Publishers take note.

  5. I really enjoyed reading the wonderful stories about perfume that Sally created and Emma brought to us via the Internet. Sally was a rare talent, and I would love to be able to buy her book when it is published. Not only a labour of love by Emma, but also an excellent and thoughtful compilation of the research her Mum worked on for so many years. Should definitely become a book!

    Cheers, Sue

Loving your writing in this blog Emma. I have always had a deep fascination with fragrance and love to read as much as I can about it. Your writing has taught me things which I have never come across in any other literature and I would be so excited to see this work published. With excitement and best wishes.

  9. Dearest Emma,

I join the above persons when it comes to: lovely, great, must become a BOOK. Really amazinggg, uhmzz.!! I also LOVE to READ !! what YOU are writing, and in such pefect English-English too.
Now: I SUBSCRIBED to receiving your blog's emails..and why? well..everytime you *update* your website with new stories...and send *your subscribers* an email...BINGO...I then - preprogrammed, ha.ha. automatically *click* and read.
So if you could do this - at least I would be HAPPY = I chose !! to become a *valued* subscriber..my choice.
Second: As you might know: I am a professional businesswoman, (and housewife ALWAYS too=grr). therefore: when it comes to *getting your book PUBLİSHED*!!: do-not-wait-for-a-publisher but YOU GO FOR IT YOURSELF.
Meanwhile all publishers on the planet were FORCED to *drop* their la-di-da-elitair attitudes I am delighted to have noticed - as an online *researcher* since 2005.
At the moment I myself am into ebooks - reading, downloading, and in the process I *stumble upon* rather USEFUL *info* for people wishing & DETERMINED to get THEIR precious words *out*...published, either hard/soft cover and these days always (for an ebook) protected !! with DRM (Digital Rights Management).
Lastly...what I am saying: GO FOR IT and get your stories PUBLİSHED!! For instance...verrry cllleverrr...I noticed recently: many new authors are into *series*. For instanceİ your work & just how YOU decide Sally Blake's Perfume Series, author: Emma Wyndham Blake - Book One...my childhood as Sally's daughter - about max ?? 200 pages, etc.
You write so well, so 200 pages is done in a tiffy. People just LOVE such saga*s.
    ________________________________________________________________
Anyway: do NOT wait for a publisher to *accept* you... get the first book *on the road* and through AMAZON =kindle/mobi, B&N - KOBO - Smashwords - GOOGLE=Epub.
You deserve it, Sally would be so delighted...and globally: so.o.o. many folks on Internet..shall find your creations$$ and buy.
Above: Words from a DINOSAURUS, who once happily and successfully sold *icecubes to Eskimo's* (sorry: Inuits they must be referred to these days) i.e I *helped* put The British Crown Colony Hong Kong on-the-map throughout Continental Europe - where in those days most had never heard of it, even *thought* it was somewhere in Japan.
Lots of love, blessings, and *a kick-in-the-butt* to *give-kickass* = yes, I am reading a lot of American stuff, but I do prefer the beauty of English proze & poetry.
    Willy
